Solar Observing Club

We have three excellent solar viewing scopes for lending to interested club members.  They are currently stored at our observatory.  You can check them out if you already have a key to the observatory by just signing the ledger on the optics cabinet so we can keep track of who has what equipment.  Please contact any club officer to check them out if you do not have a key to the observatory.

Meade Coronado Hydrogen-Alpha PST (Personal Solar Telescope).
The PST is paired with a Coronado Altazimuth Mount/Tripod and a 20mm eyepiece.

Meade 70mm Coronado Calcium-k Solar Telescope.
The telescope is paired with a Vixen Mini Porta Altazimuth Mount/Tripod.
Included in the storage case are 25mm, 18mm, and 12mm eyepieces and a 2X Barlow.

Daystar . There are two narrow Band Filters. One for prominence and one for the Cromosphere . Both filters are electrically temperature regulated using a rechargeable battery pack. In addition there is a Orion solar starseeker tracking altitude azimuth mount. It is so simple to use. You just level the tripod with the telescope pointed slightly to the left of the sun. You push the power button and it automatically locates your GPS position and finds the sun.
